While viewing the play A slash of My Heart at the Saint Charles Community Colleges Center Stage Theatre, I could rattling feel the emotions presented by each character in the play. I attended the surgical operation on March 2nd at 8:00 P.M. The military operation had two acts with a ten-minute intermission. A Piece of My Heart follows the true events of the fight with Vietnam and the harsh conditions American soldiers were experiencing, along with the tragic causalities our American people suffered. Young women, who were seeking a change with vastly different backgrounds, enlist in the build up Forces along with the Red Cross. Through their journeys to Vietnam, they discover the danger that Nam really is, and has become. While stationing at certain base camps, some of the women wield American soldiers after being injured in the absorb of duty. The young inexperienced women learn quickly that there is no beat to think, but to act as fast as humanly possible. These young women, thrown in the middle of a true crisis learn how fragile life can be when it is taken away in the blink of an eye.
Although there is shortly a war, the ladies make use of any free conviction they collect, and they make the best of it to keep their minds off of the tragic situations they have experienced. Some of the women were taken advantage of in their past, or during their time spent in Vietnam by former(a) male soldiers which causes them to give voice romantic interests with one another. Some find love with other male soldiers, and some have their world shaken when their love ones are killed right in front of them.
