Throughout history, thither have been cases of security review in everything from speech to art and literature. In the ancient Egypt, there were strict rules that decided what wad could say about the gods or pharaohs. In 213 B.C China, “emperor Shi Huang Di burned The Analects of the philosopher Confucius and nearly every last(predicate) other books in China in an attempt to enter old loyalties and ideas” (Day). When America was an English colony, if any champion spoke out against the female monarch of England, it was considered treason. In all these cases, censorship did nothing to silence the people’s voice. The Egyptian empire collapsed and The United States had a revolution. And compensate today, censorship rightfulnesss have been implemented on things such as music and movies. If there is nothing to gain with censorship, then the political sympathies should not try to censor the books we read, the music we listen to, or the material we watch.
The citizens of the United States are living in a pure democracy that has given us all prototypal amendment rights. The first amendment of the U.S. constitution states “Congress shall Make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” This is the very law that this country was founded on.
This one judgment of conviction should mean that there should be no establishment interference on our code of ethics or morals. This sentence should mean that we as citizens should be allowed complete freedom of our birth choices and opinions. Our government was set up to make laws and to keep our parliamentary procedure in order. They were not build to start making decisions for us on what is or isnt decent. Yet for as long as we can remember, there have been attempts to silence those willing to educe their mind in any fashion.
