Unlike the Boeing 777, also called the triple 7, which came out of production on time and was delivered to customers like United Airlines and Air France on schedule, the 787 continues to prey into delay after delay. Despite now evident child problems with the 777 variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) which damages the engines gear case and ice problems in some of the Rolls-Royce mounted Trent 800 series engines fitted to it. The 787 seems to have run into greater problems even before delivery
