World warfare I also known as the Great contend by many began in the summertime of 1914 and ended in November of 1918. The war was a result of the killing of the Archduke and leaders aggression towards other countries which were stand uped by the rising nationalism of the European nations. In June 1914, a Serbian terrorist assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. The Archduke was assassinated in his car during a drive in Sarajevo. The assassination was the work of a terrorist radical known as the Black Hand a Serbian nationalist secret society.  The Archduke was chosen as a propose because Serbians feared that after acquiring the throne, he would continue the persecution of Serbs living  indoors the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This caused Austria-Hungary to take the opportunity to stamp its authority upon the Serbians and did so by issuing an ultimatum that was compromised of a long a list of demands make upon the Serbian government.
