Macbeth was a play written in Jacobean times by William Shakespeare in 1606. It is through the actions of the main character Macbeth that enables the audience to hear the underlying themes of the Shakespearean play. Macbeth as a character matures considerably throughout the play and this is demonstrated via the pips he commits. Macbeth as a character does not mature positively but negatively his emotions have been stagnant for so long that his latent breathing in consumes him. Macbeths change in character or maturing in character can be shown significantly with his actions and words at the beginning of the play compared to those at the end. When analysing the murder of King Duncan compared to the murder of Macduffs family it becomes presumable to the audience. Shakespeares purpose was to create a character that we could empathize with and through this he creates a solid ground that we are able to relate to, that reflects our own.
