In 2004, they created a film based on the current events of this terrible massacre. Hotel Rwanda is a historical drama film, about the Rwanda genocide. This vehemence that took place, was between the Tutsi and the Hutu batch. The tensions between these two groups led to a well-mannered war. Mainly the Tutsi people were killed, in fact over 800,000 of them were killed by the Hutu. The majority of this film was based on the story of the jitney of Sabena Hotel des Mille Collines, and his family. Paul Rusesabagina, was Hutu, but his wife Tatiana was Tutsi. Their marriage make him a traitor in the eyes of the Hutu extremists. The Hutu people began killing the Tutsis in hope that they would last kill them all.
As all of the fighting got worse, all of the people who were not Rwandas were coherent to leave. That included everyone who was trying to help, (the UN peacekeepers, the Americans, and the Europeans). This left the Tutsi people completely powerless, and susceptible against the Hutus. Paul Rusesabagina was a very smart man, and he as well did a lot to help everybody and since he had such a good reputation with many people he was fitting to use his power to buy time, whether it be paying people off, or calling his different connections, he was able to establish off the Hutus.



He knew that this wouldnt work forever and that eventually he would have nothing left to give, so he had to figure nearthing out. He told all of the people that he allowed to mollify in his hotel that he had to call anyone they knew abroad and explain their situation. He said they must sound like they are really reaching out to them so that the feel guilty and neediness to help. He knew this was his last hope and he even told his wife that if the Hutus did come to cut her and the kids, to jump off of the roof, instead of let them get the satisfaction of cutting them.
