In Amir Bar-Lev's documentary film My Kid Could Paint That, it seems that til now again media has made the decision on what the public should believe. after the CBS show 60 legal proceeding exposé the world which once believed in a four year old gifted ruseist was left questioning if they had been tricked. Bar-Lev picked up right where 60 Minutes left off and set out to change positivist opinions and place doubt in people's minds by hinting end-to-end the film that the paintings were painted by the father, Mark Olmstead.
The documentary questioned the accuracy of Marla being a child prodigy in the art community for the benefit of his film, even at the expense of the subject, a child. The Olmsteads turned to Bar-Lev with hopes the documentarian would be able to vindicate Marla as an workman with his film as well as with the family’s propensity to have their integrity restored .
